I have a new 5th wheel (2010 Denali) and discovered a leak in one corner of a slide-out. I have searched extensively from where this leak is coming from and can't find it. It's a small leak on the floor in a corner. No water stains or signs of water coming down the walls. It just shows up after a rain like a ghost. I've read every post on this board about slide-out leaks and have come to a conclusion that I'm going to re-caulk over every seam that's exposed around the slide-out. I don't want the dealer tearing everything up trying to locate this little leak. My question; what is the very best caulking material. I've been told to use Silicone, good or bad? What do the RV people use? Where in the world is this water coming from. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

the dicor caulk stuff that is on the shelf at the RV dealer will work fine.
I found a coule of pesky corner slide leaks to be the outer moulding up top where the moulding makes the 90 degree corner. Any crack or hole left where the angle was bent/cut will suck in the water.
Make sure the sealnt is rated for rubber roofs, and there are two kinds, self leveling and non self leveling. That self leveling stuff will run down surfaces that are not reltively level.
Man ya gotta fix that leak pronto.

I've discovered that my (hopefully only one) leak comes from the window. Don't know what part yet. I think is has something to do with the sealant and weep hole. I've been reading the post by "robertbick" concerning window leaks, very informative. Most all questions were addressed, now I need to dig in and find the exact leak. Ref: caulking, the consensus is, ProFlex RV seems to be the choice of most. I'll be getting that tomorrow and start my repairs. Thanks

Never use silicone, and I thought your post was also for how to find the leak. Several RV shops here offer a pressurization of your RV to find where the air would escape and that would be your leak. Leaks can be yards away from where they actually show up in your Rv. Might want to check a few RV shops in your area to see what the charges are. I understand that it works pretty good.
