yep drank from many a green water hose as a kid. I tried it recently and it tasted horrible. But I wasn't thirsty after that and I'm still here.

The RV stores around here all seem to sell the same brand hose as WalMart - "RV/Marine TastePURE Drinking Water Hose". Interstingly, inside the label (in fine print) is the following warning: "This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Water contact surfacts are manufactured with FDA sanctioned materials. For proper use, allow water to flush through hose for several minutes before drinking"

The taste is definitely from hooking up to a water supply. The tank taste is actually much better - probably because the majority of the water was supplied by a hose that had flushed for several minutes. The problem with a campground connection is that the water always sits in the connection hose for a bit before using. We don't use much water - I expect we are just emptying the hose contents each time we run the faucet, loading a fresh batch to sit in the hose before the next use. The hose is less than a year old.

Maybe some didn't ask for the non-plastic taste water hose from Wal-Mart. I bet he can get one for the same price or he could pay more for the same one elsewhere. Just a thought. Grump....grump....

How are you storing your hose? Do you coil it and leave the ends open, or do you coil and couple the ends together? By coupling the ends together you seal the hose from outside contaminates.

If the taste of the water is little off i just add kool-aid to it or more coffee to the percolator.
Filter your water before it gets to the trailer, sanitize your lines and tank once or twice a year,go camping and enjoy. See you on the next post.

tank new? That's your issue... Once you've run a few hundred gallons or so through it it will get better.
Jees, sure glad I never had this problem with my 5er... but we're not talking about his tank.

Again, run some water through this stuff. Just sounds like it tastes "new".

Hey I fill up my FW tank at home with my regular hose cause I'm to lazy to go hook up the white RV hose. I just run it for a few minutes and then stick it in. We're all still here.

i use a regular hose as well but i dont drink from my FW tank... a case of water is cheap and portable because we are probably going to be doing some hiking or something any ways.
