Update:
Got the call from Stanley Springs about my as-built alignment condition.

My front axle, by alignment machine and direct measurement is 1/4" out of perpendicular with tow ball. Spec is 1/16" max. per Lippert's own mounting spec in their manual. The good news is, that's not as far out as I thought it might be. However, in addition, the hangers are still 1/2" out of square with each other and the noted disparity of parallelism between the two axles combine to confirm my initial suspicions about what is causing my tire wear. The estimate, barring any other unforseen costs, is $410, plus the state inspection. So I may get out of this for under $500. I re-affirmed I want a good solid hanger welded back on, even if it means paying for a new one. I don't want hacked up, heat damaged hangers. I forgot to ask, so I called back with the question about the condition of the spring bushings. He had left for lunch but will get my message upon return. If there is more cost, it will be there. In addition, my guess about not being completed today turns out to be accurate.

The last thing he said was, "...don't worry, it'll be right when we're done." That's good news. More later.

That's what matters. A matter of time and convenience in my mind, aligning these things is not rocket science. JBarca was able to do his in his driveway with a tape measure and a dial indicator, but he had the time and space to get it done. I'm a little short on both...option B is take into a shop and write a check..

Sounds like you found a good shop!

Well, sounds like good news Moss albeit you being out the 500 bucks... Maybe you can write to Action Line in TL and see if they can some of your money back - this sounds like a great case for that, and I'm sure others have had similar problems... Maybe this will shed a little light on the sub par assembly of TT axles...

Everything so far tells me it's a good shop. I hope so.

They returned my call about the spring seat bushings and said they look fine, so it looks like $410 should cover it. Fingers crossed. Merry Christmas to me?

I'll look into the TL mag., but I dropped my GS membership in favor of Coachnet. Not sure how that'll go over.

Don't ask, don't tell! If you don't tell them they will probably never know. Shouldn't make any difference anyway!
Glad that things are looking up for you!

H'mm, 1/4 out, yup that is problem 1. Tire scrub angle to the road just went up!

I'm even more curious on your toe angle. Hopefully they will give you a full read out of all wheel conditions before and after.

We all learn from this detail stuff.

Sounds like they are doing good work so far. Good for you.

We will keep waiting a little longer....curosity now up big time.

I'm supposed to get the whole she-bang on a printout, I think. I'll post the whole sheet if I can get a good scan. That, or take a picture of it. That seems to work out better than a scan sometimes.
