Fellow RVers,
Does any one have a recommended product to lube the dump valves on the grey and black tanks? I am winterizing the rig but want to lube the valves so they don't bind up when I go to use the 5er in a few months.

I spray mine inside and out with silicone spray from time to time. They continue to move smoothly.

Put a little baby oil in a couple of gallons of water and dump in the tank and work the valve. Works great for us.

Kinda did the same using a gallon of cheap vegtable oil. Drain the tank and dump the oil and be fast and pull and push the valve until the oil is gone. I did feel it worked. I also spray lube on the rod when it is pulled and work it back and forth and it also makes it better.

Since I have 3 dump valves would I have to poor some into all 3 tanks? I can not see any way to spray my valves as I can not see the valves or cables or anything due to enclosed underbelly.

Thanks. I'll give the oil in the water a try tomorrow as the weather has warmed up here in Colorado. I can't get to my valves easily as they are in an enclosed underbelly.
Hope all's good with you chevman.

Look under the kitchen tank where the valve is and it should show a screwed on door. Take it off and you should see the valve. It will be like a tar product to seal it. I will email you.

Been RVing for more than 33 years and never lubed a dump valve. Never had one stick either.
Pretty sure the compounds in gray and black waste are more than enough to keep the valves lubricated.
But leave it to Thetford to come up with a product that they think I need!

Same experience here but have 2 more years of doing nothing than you have.
