I had 6 new Bridgestone R250 tires mounted 2 weeks ago and had a front end alignment done. After just completing a 2400 mile round trip with them I am not at all happen with the performance. They felt squirrely and I was fighting the wheel all the time. My question to everyone is: is it me, the alignment or perhaps I got some bad tires? all explanations will be appreciated.

Thanks

RV type, length, four corner weights needed before you can get any good answers

Are they all steel belts and plys? If not then there's a big part of the problem right there.

I had very similar experience with a set of R-250's last summer.
Tire shop highly recommended them but had told me they would be load range G. (I was replcing Goodyear load range F G269's). When I pichked up the coach (2000 Dutch Star gasser that was weighed at 19000 lbs and both axles under gross wt limits) I saw that the new R-250 tires were load range F. Discussion with tire shop resulted in a price adjustment and them telling me the R-250s should be good. They were very loose feeling but since it was very windy I attributed the wandering to the wind. We then took a 700 mile trip and the whole time the coach was difficult to drive and very tiring.
Upon return, I called the shop and they told me they would make the deal right and would replace the tires for me at no addititional cost. I opted for Michelin XZE load range H and am very well satisfied with them so far. Tire pressures with the bridgestones was 100psi from the shop, I adjusted to 90psi at first but then went to 110 in an attempt to improve stability but nothing helped the Bridgestones. I am running 90 psi with Michelins and ride is good and stability is very satisfactory. I have to say the Goodyears were also very stable but noisy and harder riding. Size is 245-70 R19.5
Tire shop was surprised by the poor stability of the R 250s and offered to replace them with new load range H but I was gun shy with the Brand. I know others on this forum rave favorably about Bridgestones and their experience is what it is. They did not work for me and the Michelins did work. Just my story for what it is worth. I have used Bridgestone on passenger cars and been satisfied and would try them in that application again.
I was very satisfied with the dealer's action and highly recommend them (Tommy House Tires here in central Illinois)

Have run three years with (245/70 19.5) R250s on the front at 85-90# with my 20500 gvwr ford and been very happy with them. Too much air up front, and/or too much weight in the rear ( unloading front axle) along with other things, can cause these things to happen.

I'm going to go back to the tire dealer today and see if they will exchange the tires for 6 Yokahoma's. Also going to write to Bridgestone and let them know the problems I am having with their product. It no fun driving the MH when you are fighting the wheel all day. Thank you for the replies and the suggestions.

I've been running Bridgestone R250's, same size as yours, for five years. 95 psi is the sidewall listed max for those tires. I run my fronts at 85 and my rears at 90 and my front coil air bags at 70. I have absolutely no handling problems. I had a stroke which partially paralyzed my right arm, so I drive with my left hand only. I agree with Viewfinder. I think your control problems mainly lay somewhere else.

Not sure what happened but I will try it again...I have R-260's on my coach, 295/75R/22.5's load range "G"...This is the second set and when I put these on I had the same issue as you did. Found out that the R-260's had more tread then the R-250's and that is why they squish going down the road...I put about 5000 miles on them and the squish went away...have about 25,000 on them now and no issues at all...I am a big fan of Bridgstone tires and will continue to use them...BTW I run down the road at about 28,400 with a gross of 32,400...hope this helps...
