Hi All, We are new owners of a 2009 Bounder 35H and it has been challenging to say the least to have Camping World (where we purchased the unit) resolve a long list of issues. One that I think is very strange is that the Fantastic Fan in the galley opens curbside, instead of towards the rear of the MH like the other vents do. Maybe I am missing something here, but it looks like I will be unable to install a vent cover over this one unless I mount it sideways. Is this right?
Thanks!

It needs to be removed and reinstalled so it points backwards to the rear. Once done, then the vent cover is installed correctly vice to the side.

That is partly correct, it does need to be open toward the rear of the coach, but I have talked to the Fantastic Fan factory and they do not recommend putting any covers on their vents.

Just curious if the factory said why they don't recommend the covers. I know MaxxAir makes newer vents that are supposed to go with the Fantastic Fans.
In terms of the fan itself, all of mine point to the rear...

Mine is covered. No problem.
However it does seem strange to me the paperwork that came with it(FF) says to travel with the vent lid FULL OPEN. (read it same way several times -- we don't)
What is reason for that???

Mine says you MAY use it while traveling and to keep it full open if you do. Does not say you have to.
Also says a cover restricts air flow, causes an accumulation of dust and increases noise levels.

The guy at the factory told me the covers restrict the air flow too much and the vents are designed to be open when driving. I asked if that would be true at 70MPH with a 70MPH headwind and he said yes.

I recently installed the MaxxAir cover designed for powered vents. Likely there is slightly less air flow, but the convenience of having no worries with falling debris under the open lid, rain coming in when not there to close it, and being able to run it in any weather in either direction far ourweighs any slight inconvenience.
I think they can be run with the lid up when driving, but only if the lid is open to the back. Somebody goofed!

Ours opens toward the curbside and we put a Maxxair cover over it. Come to think of it, same with our bathroom. It hasn't hurt the fans in eight years and I don't expect it to.
