Does anyone know of a new ultralight fiver with a bedroom slideout? I have done a little research, but have yet to find one. Any suggestions appreciated.

Lots of mfgs have light weight rigs with slides. Search til your heart is content. Id look at Jayco, Forest River, Heartland and others that indicate Light or Lite weight.

Not sure about a bedroom slide as that adds to the pin weight real quick. Heartland makes the North Trail a 29 footer that has 2 slides and they are set behind the axles (to lessen the pin weight??).

Check out www.trailmanor.com for trailers that have bedroom slideouts.

Forget about the term "ultralite". Its mainly a gimmic word to entice buyers looking for light weight. I don't even know what it means. Just compare the unloaded vehicle weight that has to be posted on a paper usually attached to a cabinet door. Also, don't pay too much attention to "half ton towable" claims. Some are but not necessarily comfortably by all half-tons. Each foot of length adds weight and slide-outs add a lot and I think some of the better made units are the heavier ones unfortunately.

Check out Open Range - they make a very nice lighter weight 5th wheels. Their slide mechanisms cut a lot of weight (they use a cable system instead of a hydraulic system). They are not ultralight but they do have a couple of models they claim a 1/2 ton can tow safely.

I saw a Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite with a bedroom slide just this week. Check the Forest River web page.
