I like reading Fulltimer blogs and would like to find one with someone who fulltimes and does workamping. Anybody have some suggestions?

You will more likely than not, get the most honest and humble answers from the workamping forum. You may not like the answers , but they will be there. Sometimes you MUST read between the lines though.

WTTCS- what do you mean "read between the lines". We plan on fulltiming in 2013, and will have to work camp to supplement our limited income. As time gets closer for us to be on the road I plan on regularly checking into workkamping sites, etc.

What I mean, is some glorify the experience and you need to be smart enough and educated enough to know when that is happening. Workamping is good to SUPPLEMENT your income, but you sure gotta watch those unscrupulus work places out here. If it were easy and great, everyone would do it.

The Workamper News forum is pretty good although the number of posts per day is pretty small.

We are full timers and workcamping for 4 years. We have found a wide variety of positions available out there. Seas Candies, Fish and Game working at fish hatcheries & tagging deer at deer season, Pepperidge Farms, Lighthouses and of course campgrounds of all types. Make a good resume but don't take something you wouldn't be happy with. We tried housekeeping for a season....hated constantly cleaning bathrooms & showers...never again. Some can't dig trenches to fix water & sewer lines. Alergic to grass so mowing and weed eating is out. Be upfront and be honest as some will take advantage of you or try. We have met so many wonderful people that we keep in contact with workers & campground guests. Don't wait until May to find a position in June. By Sept or October, I have my summer position locked in...know where I'm going in May. I plan a year out where we're going...Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Washington, etc. Good luck and enjoy....many here will give life experiences...just hard to shut us up.

The best sources for us are workamper.com and work@koa. You have to pay to sign up for either one. But, it is worth it. As far as a blog, I dunno... We just post our resume and contact campgrounds and other potential employers when they post openings. We also plan at least a year in advance. Been doing it for five years now.

Hi just to add some info. Try www.rvparkstore.com and click the help wanted ads. Or www.happyvagabonds.com They are good work camper sources. I workcamp and RV full time. There are good places to go and BAD. Beware of so many hours or as needed as that can be a full time job and not something you want to do. Workcamper and KOA weren't useful at all. Thre are many sites out there that don't require you to join. Just my opinion. I am in Montgomery workcamping for the winter then going out west come the summer time. Have fun.
