There are posts of all kinds in this Snowbirds forum... I'm sure if you just poke around and read some you'd find all kinds of information.

I have posted this information on this site previously.
Gulf Shores AL is a FINE tourist area, with MANY
good campgrounds and restaurants, shopping facilities,
and miles of great beaches. The area starts
about 7 miles inland, at Foley. A snowbird favorite campground
is Anchors Aweigh (has web site), very close to a large
'outlet center' which the women LOVE...and to Lambert's
restaurant, 'home of the throwed rolls' (yes, they DO).
This is a large new campground.....no shade,
. There are other campgrounds and restaurants in the
town and area....try rvparkreviews.com at Foley Alabama
South on highway 59, cross a high bridge over the intra-
coastal canal. My favorite campground IN Gulf Shores is Luxury
RV, an easy 2 short block walk from the beach.pool ...no shade,
concrete, a few palms and pines....has a web site. Great
restaurants in walking distance...Oyster House.......back at
the high rise bridge is LuLu's (sister of Jimmy Buffett), a
fine restaurant.....all these are NOT fancy dress up places.
Gulf State Park campground is a few miles east, and is about
a mile inland....usually booked up, but allows drive ups.
Call and discuss it.
A fun trip is to drive about 15 miles to Mobile Bay and ride
the ferry across and back, as a walk-on or in a vehicle.
About 20 minutes each way...windy, and may be cool on deck.
The 'other end' is on Dauphin Island.......has a web site,
and a campground.
Highways are 4 lane, and get busy on weekends. Crime is
minimal. Nice people.
A drive east on the beach, across Perdido Pass high rise
bridge takes you to the FloraBama, a FAMOUS beach bar,
which looks as if it will fall over any minute. You will
pass hundreds of condos on the beach, many 20 or more stories.

As far as clothing, that's up to you, I think my wife takes as much as she can fit in the RV, One thing we learned is to bring at least one suit. Few years back we were camping in the mountains far from home when we got the call my aunt had passed away in Conn. We were stuck with No dress clothing. since then we carry one set of dress clothing, hoping we never have to use it. and it's cheeper then having to buy some as we had to do.

First of all, I assume you've made reservations? Although we are going to Gulf St Pk in Alabama in Feb. and couldn't get reservations. However they keep 20% of the sites for 1st come 1st serve and we did get in last year. But that won't work if you are going to coastal state parks in Florida. Re: clothes. We've found we need all 4 seasons of clothes no matter the location or season and the northern part of the Gulf could be cool(or not). We have our mail forwarded to our good friends and neighbors and this works best. Expect the coastal areas to be crowded; especially southern Florida.
