Has anybody up here in the great white north dealt with rvupgrades.com
Their prices seem really good. I see by their web site that they ship
to Canada via UPS which I ain't too thrilled about as their costs are obscene.
Thanks

I've used them several times and have been satisfied with their service. Fast easy ship and exactly as ordered. I'm here in the States, however.... Dennis

We ship a lot of the same stuff rvupgrades does and have a lot of international orders. We NEVER use UPS for them. Not only are their shipping costs obscene, but then the customer has to pay extra for a customs agent! We ALWAYS use the USPS for our international orders. Not only is shipping itself less expensive, but they have their own customs agents, so there are no "hidden" costs associated with shipping internationally.

Items shipped internationally may be subject to GST and sometimes PST when they are $20.00 or more in value.

When they go via USPS, Canada Post charges $5.00 to collect the taxes. That amount shows in the amount collected for almost all parcels I receive. Seldom is that $5.00 mentioned as separate from the taxes.

Occassionally, something has slipped through as UPS. When that happened the fee was $30.00 to collect the GST & PST for values betweeen $20.00 and $200.00. & that is several years ago. That is one thing we are all are talking about when we say UPS is expensive.

& I, I took the road less travelled by.

Mrs. Mik. Can you provide the the name of your outfit or a link. I, for one, won't buy from any org that only ships by UPS.

Mrs. Mik can't post a link to her store, it's against the rules for her to do so.

But I can say, check out http://www.rvingoutpost.com/, I've been quite pleased with what I've gotten from them.

That brokerage fee is the reason that I will never again order anything from Camping World. After my first and last purchase, I contacted them and suggested that they start to use regular mail for Canadian orders but they never even bothered to reply.

Not sure where you are but if you are close enough and don't mind driving across the border, you can have most places ship it to you in your name to a UPS Customer Centre marked "HOLD FOR PICKUP". Include your phone number on the address and use the UPS tracking to determine when it will arrive - they might call you. Search the UPS web site for their centres offering this service - there are several in the Buffalo area and in almost all major US cities. A great service to use when travelling with a bit of purchase planning. Believe FedEx offers something similar. No added charge with UPS to do this. Have used it several time including with RV Upgrades - no brokerage, cheaper US shipping, DIY Customs crossing and dependable final delivery driver! Downside is a tank of gas!!!
