Okay,
I have been camping for a few years now, gave lot's of people advice, took advice from alot also and after reading a post on winterizing I went to You Tube and watched some videos. My question is this, when I hook up to city water, at the spicket, I 1st hook up regulator, then water filter than hose right? According to one video, they say to start from camper side, regulator, filter then hose. Another video says opposite. Which way do you do it? I do understand their point because they say the hose will build up pressure which will cause damage.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Greg

Campground supply
Regulator
Hose.
Our full size Watts regulator is heavy, I don't want it hanging on the side of our trailer at the inlet.
We have an internal, whole house water filter.

It is all personal preference. I like my regulator and filter right at the camper so anything that may be picked up from the hose is filtered out. Only downside this way is the hose could be over pressurized and burst, but I doubt it, and it's outside so it's not going to do any damage like if inside plumbing would.

IF your desire is to protect both the RV AND the hose you have to put the regulator ahead of the hose. If you don't CARE about the hose it can go either way.

I keep it simple, I don't use a regulator or a filter. I did once, long ago, but I couldn't see where it did any good. In fact, I had TWO filters, in series, one for particulates and one for taste/odor. When I checked them after three months of full timing, I found NOTHING in them, so I quit using the fool things.
The pressure regulator may have some value, but I never encountered damaging water pressures, so I quit using it, as well.
It is true, it IS all personal preference.
I prefer to do without them.

I used to have the regulator screwed into the MH until I blew out a hose, now I have the regulator on the water supply before the hose.

I did the same thing until I came back to my site to see the hose swollen to the size of an Anaconda. This was at Ft Wilderness.

I go from the supply to the 3 filters to the regulator and then the RV. If the pressure is over 100 PSI or the hose is in the hot sun > 100 degrees place the regulator at the supply.

I have been to campgrounds that have had high water pressure. Blackwell Island advised about this when I made the reservation. Then again when I signed in. While talking to the lady at the desk she said every year people will not pay attention to the warning and suffer damage to their rigs.
I install the regulator at the faucet, hook up the hose and then just before the TT I connect in the filter which I attach to the rear bumper with a bungie cord.
