It's weird, aRV.Net member sueT posted today how her elderly 19 yo cat Fang had an ingrown toenail. People were mentioning the puppet "White Fang" that used to be a dog puppet on the popular 1960's kids show "Soupy Sales". If you don't know who Soupy was, you should move on!
His real name was Milton Supman, and he got a lot of his comic style from his childhood, after all, his parents ran a small dry goods shop, and were the only Jewish family in a small North Carolina town..they sold white cloth to the local KKK to make their robes!
I googled Soupy Sales to see what was up with him...and he died this morning at 83 years old. In his TV career, he took his signature pie in the face seriousily, including plastering roughly 20,000 pies in the faces (and taking 5,000 in his own face!) of folks such as Milton Berle and long lines of famous people...and elevated "pie in the face" to an art form!
There was a really funny picture, yet touching...of his star on Hollywood Blvd this morning, flowers all around his star, and one cream pie!
I spend many giggling hours with my 3 brothers, sitting in front of our black and white picture TV laughing at Soupy and his pals.
Why do I get the feeling that at the Pearly Gates of Heaven this morning, the good St. Peter is still wiping whipped cream out of his nose?!
Keep 'em laughing up there Soupy Sales! And try to resist the urge to toss a pie at God!

No...but I remember the show where the naked stripper wearing only balloons appeared at the door, which when opened by Soupy, the camera and audience couldn't see her, but Soupy dissolved into an embarrassed red-faced laughing so hard he couldn't breath guy! Years later we got to see the behind the scene filmed lady that so flummoxed Soupy, and nearly put him into a early grave!
