Thanks for the replies. I know how my semi runs bobtailing and that is not fun especially on wet roads. I didn't know if Sportschassis or 2L Custom trucks or equivalent would have some sort of counterweight setup or not. Compared to a pickup, how does the mtds handle on wet roads? I currently have a F550 with a steel flatbed and really don't use the 4x4 too much except for mud/snow. My only real concerns with a 2wd would be that we have a favorite campground we go to alot and their roads are gravel and sites are grass areas and have been to campgrounds were you have to cross over some small wash outs and some uneven campsites where you had to either back up a gravel slope to get to the site or go over some uneven terrain to get to the site. I will most probably stay with a c/c Ford/Dodge flatbed setup due to the versatility and would be in the weight limits of a 17k toyhauler but I know the mtd's would pull much better along with the safety factor.
