Does anyone use household toilet bowl cleaner to clean the toilet in the RV? Will the cleaner damage the seals in the toilet bowl or the holding tank?

I just use dish water soap. Its mild enough not to hurt the plastic or seals.. Works for me!

I use the foaming bubble kind of cleaner - do not use anything abrasive.

I use "Happy Camper" in the tank. I fill the bowl with Happy Camper and rinse out the bowl and wipe down the toilet and flush.

a toilet is a toilet...nothing special about an RV toilet when it comes to cleaning one.

If you don't have a porcelain toilet..don't use an abrasive cleaner.

I don't know of any S&B toilets that have a rubber gasket holding the water in the bowl, so I would have to say you're wrong. There may be many products that contain petroleum products and can NOT be used on an RV toilet. Even porcelain RV toilets can not have abrasives used in them, as the abrasive will hasten the deterioration of the seal. A big difference between a water trap type seal and a rubber seal on a slide or flap, to hold water in the bowl.

I use Clorox Clean-up on the WC, basin, kit sink, and sometimes on the counters. It works well, no abrasive, and I don't don't use water to rinse it off-just wipe clean with paper towels (except for the WC). It's a great disinfectant along with the cleaner.

We have a porcelain bowl and the instructions say not to use abrasive cleaners. They recommend a Soft Scrub type of product.

I use RV toilet bowl cleaner purchased at Camping World. Will not harm any of the rubber seals in the toilet or dump valves.
