Have just purchased a used Mobile Suites 36TK3. Weight loaded of about 17000 lbs. I have pulled it with my F450 and it does fine but DW and I think we probably are going to be traveling more extensively across U.S. Have been looking at MDT's and to be quite honest have the bug for a Freightliner FL60 or International LoPro. My truck (2008 Lariat) worth close to $40k avg retail, about $37k trade-in. Anyone know of any dealers that specialize in MDT's with RV conversions that would take a trade-in? Would save me alot on sales tax rather than selling mine and then buying another.

I happened to be riding up highway 231 from Huntsville to Fayetteville, Tn. last week. Just south of Fayetteville there's a small dealer that had 6 or 7 nice looking MDT's sitting on his lot with a bunch of horse trailers. I didn't catch the name and I didn't stop to look at them, this time.

Again, Try looking at Trailer Life Mag, there are quite a few New And Used units listed in the ad section.

This dealer is in Knoxville. They do international stuff but always have something 'flashy' parked out front.

My guess that the money you might leave on the dealer's table negotiating a trade in on a new MDT would be more than your sales tax savings. If you're interested in saving $$, sell your TV and then buy a gently used MDT from a private party. Lots of really good ones around - and for sale.

I looked for my truck for over a year. Neely Coble in Nashville carries Freightliner M2's unfitted by Wil-Ro. SportChassis can be found in Fayetteville as noted in an earlier reply. Both will take trades.
I kept an eye on Truckpaper.com and workingtruckworld.com. I found my truck at a Lotus dealer in Scottsdale Arizona. I flew out there and drove it back home to Tennessee. The deal made the trip worth the time.

I will heartily recommend you give 2L Custom Trucks www.2lcustomtrucks.com of Pooleville Tx. a call if for no other reason than to have a chat with owner Wayland Long about your plans. I don't know if he's still doing it but he was taking pick-up trucks in trade for some of the nicest and best built toters out there. You will be pleasantly surprised to talk with someone who is exceptionally straight-up and unlike your typical salesman.
I have no affiliation with him other than to chat with him via forums over the design of the truck I had built for me up here in Canada. I have had the chance to chat with owners and they have all been exceedingly happy with their purchases.
I have no other affiliation with him of any kind.

Plan on doing just that. Funny I lived in Weatherford, Tx for eight years which is about 8 miles from Pooleville. Didn't know he existed. My brother lives is Peaster which is right near Pooleville so if he has anything will have him look. Hard to drive from East Tennessee to kick some tires.

Good advice from Bruce S. Also from cwil925 well actually all had good advice. I was at Neeley Coble for a recall that had never been done on our M2. Neeley Coble has a 2008 Freightliner M2 set up very well. I believe if you really do some Horse trading you can get this Truck at a great price. It is a new 2008, I don't think Neeley Coble will take a LDT in on trade. I didn't trust myself and told him I didn't want to trade? Again if you look very hard there are good pre-owned Freightliners out there. But don't forget the sales Tax in Tennessee . We really like our M2 and it has a awesome ride, DW says its like riding on a Cloud. We are double towing and really don't feel the Chevy HHR behind the Mobile Suites. GBY....
