I have seen a bunch of post here about the joys of being retired.
What are some of the disadvantages?
For instance, I have a terrible time keeping track of what day and date it is. Even a calender is no help if you don't know what yesterday was. My solution was to subscribe to the newspaper. First thing I do every morning is to get the paper and look to see what day it is.

I have some land up in the mountains and a neigbor up there is retired. Last year we were up there in the motorhome on a three day weekend and the area wasn't real crouded like it can get. The wife and I were talking to the neighbor and she mentioned how few people there were up there on a Saturday. His reply was, "Is it Saturday?" My wife said it was and she pointed out how few people there were considering it was a three day weekend? His reply to that was, "It's a three day weekend?" He didn't have a clue. I want to be like that some day.

My solution to that is to just put the mouse pointer on the bottom right of the computer screen each morning when I am perusing RV. net.
The day and date just pops right up.
I get up each morning with a smile on, and I go to bed each night with a smile on. For some reason, I don't recall those smiles when I was in the work force !

The only 2 problems I have encountered is that I miss my job, AND I miss the income. I was lucky, I had a job I would've done for 1/2 the salary.

I worked the same job for 42 years and enjoyed every second of it. I don't miss it one bit. Would be nice to have the income back, though.
Another disadvantage of being retired is that I no longer get paid vacations...............Oh, wait, my whole life is a paid vacation now.
