We just scrubbed the roof and treated it with a rubber preservative. We did this in our driveway with a hose. We're wondering how you fulltimers handle this chore since most campgrounds have a "no RV washing" policy.

MOST, not all, that have that policy also have someone that comes around and washes RV's. Usually $1 to $1.50 a foot.

Often they will let you do the coach if you use a bucket and do a small portion at a time.

I use a waterless car wash product on the RV and the Jeep. Works great!

Barb and Dave have it right. Since I don't know whether there is any petroleum product in a waterless car wash product, I don't know if that is advisable on a rubber roof or not. Even if it were, I can't imagine doing my roof with a product such as that and don't know if, after its application, you'd want to apply a rubber preservative on top of it.
For us, I pretty much let nature handle mine and it doesn't really look bad when the only washing it gets is rain. The only ones who can see it might be those who are driving on an overpass as I go under. Even the truckers can't see my roof and I wouldn't clean it for them anyway. Last summer, after 9 yrs with this rig, I did have someone clean and recoat it so it should be good to go for another decade or so.

We are full timers and I have found it difficult to keep our motorhome clean while traveling. I recently started going to Blue Beacon to have the rig washed. Blue Beacon is a truck/RV washing service usually located at truck stops. For a motorhome, they charge $35 for a basic wash. Add-ons, such as Rainx, etc., are available for additional charges. Blue Beacon does an exceptional job at a very reasonable price, and their locations are listed on the company website at www.bluebeacon.com. When we workamp the park will usually allow you to wash your rig.

If the RVP has restrictions, we spot clean or wait until we move to the next RVP!

What's the name of the product you use?
The product is DWG - Dri Wash N Guard. It cleans and leaves a polish, making the process pretty easy. I like it especially because you can use it on any non-porous surface - paint, glass, chrome, etc. It takes me about 20 minutes to do the Jeep, and about three hours to do the entire MH, although I usually just spot clean the MH.
The product does contain petroleum distillates, so I would not use it on a rubber roof. I don't use it on my roof either - I wash it with water a couple times a year when it gets real dirty.
DWG does not contain silicone, Teflon, PFTE, or abrasives. I have been using it for a few years now and am very happy with the outcome and being able to clean my vehicles whenever I want A Google search will bring up lots of dealers to buy it from.
Note: Just so that there is no weirdness, I am disclosing that I sell this product. I am not selling it here, but rather recommending it. I used it for a while and liked it so much I started selling it to support my cleaning habit It has been discussed on this forum before, so you can do a search to find other testimonials.
