We use the white water hoses when connected at the campgrounds. We still get the rubber taste in the water from the hoses. I have tried brand new hoses and a couple of hoses that are almost 20 years old and still get the rubber hose taste in the water. We use a large whole house filter outside of the unit and a faucet filter in the kitchen.

Hope someone has a solution to this as our tea and coffee is horrible with this rubber taste.

Not all white hoses are created equal. The premise behind a white drinking water hose is that it is supposed to be made from 100% virgin vinyl...not a shred of recycled vinyl allowed. Valterra and Camco make the best ones. Walmart and other retailers sell white vinyl hoses that are 50% recycled plastic, and may contain lead...yuck! (Lead is used in cheap Chinese made hoses to increase resistance to UV damage, and is poisonous.)

The other solution is to buy a $35.00 PUR kitchen faucet mounted water filter. You can eliminate vitrually all contaminates and taste in the water you drink and cook with, and the filters remove dangerous organic and inorganic compounds as well as pesticides and heavy metals. Good luck!

Something doesn't sound right and most approved RV white drinking water hoses should not cause what you are experiencing.

We never drink from the onboard FW or city water and use a brita pitcher for filtering water for coffee, the pooches, etc.

We use bottled spring water for drinking and coffee. Even when brushing teeth we have never had a rubber taste. Try buying another white hose from Camping World to see if that makes a difference. If every white hose you have purchased yields a rubber taste are you sure it's from the hose and not something within the RV water system.

Get a better quality hose, that should help. Like many we don't drink from the onboard anyway and use a brita for cooking (which comes from onboard) and bottled for coffee/tea. You could also go with a system water filter.

If you have ruled out the hose being the culprit it might be your water system. I had a similiar problem when I bought my used trailer. I used a product called Spring Fresh I beleive it was called. It was blue and came in a gallon size container. Its a bit of work since you have to fill your fresh water tank with the product and then flush all your lines by opening up faucets. The directions actually tell you to drive around with the trailer to agitate the solution in the tank. Anyways I followed the directions exactly and I was very happy with the outcome. No more odor from the water.

Try putting a charcoal filter in your outside whole house filter. We use one in ours and it lasts the whole three months of fulltiming during the winter in Florida. No taste in the water at all that way.

As above, did you try drinking from hose directly? All (?) RV's use plastic pipe for internal plumbing. Changing hose will not help that.

That is surely a mystery. We just use the white with blue stripe hoses from
Walmart and have for years. No hose taste at all, and yes we do drink the water from the fresh tank and from city water connection. I am stumped.

X2 Sounds more like it's in the tt's plumbing.
