I will keep you posted. The last time he got plugged, the enema didn't work and they had to put him under and remove manually. Talked to our vet today and she thinks that we should be hopeful. This surgeon is a specialist who was teaching at the vet hospital and went into private practice. He is with the Vet Specialists here in Nashville. Surely someone can sew up that pouch!!!

I'm praying there is a solution to Max's problem and that he can finally get some relief.

Max was seen by the surgeon and he believes that it is indeed problems with hernias in the rectum. The muscles on either side of his rectum have atrophied and allowing the rectum to "pouch" out. The poo gets caught in the pouches and hardens causing him to be blocked. The vet has done them in dogs, but not cats. he will research, but believes the anatomy is the same and results the same. He will go in tomorrow and come home Wednesday. He has to be confined for 4 weeks with special litter and will wear a head cone. We will shut him into a bathroom and watch his poo to make sure he is doing OK. It would be so wonderful if this works for him and there are no complications.

Prayers and thoughts continue to be needed. Will update tomorrow after surgery.
