There are over 500 RV parks in the Valley with the highest concentration between Mercedes and Mission. Your best bet is to book into one that looks likely for maybe a month then investigate others until you find one that suits you. They range from bare bones all the way up to almost anything you could want and are priced accordingly. Several of them will allow you to leave your rig year round with a much reduced rate for the unoccupied months.

Good advice, even the nicer parks have undesirable sites, get a spot for a week or more & visit many parks to find a park & site that you like.

Canyon lake is a nice older park with lots of activities, but not all sites are created equal, some are small, some are by the road & some have a nice lake view. It is about a 1/2 mile from a Super Walmart, and convenient to many shopping & dining opportunities.

McAllen is a big busy city, you mighe want to be just to the east or west of McAllen.

Are you interested in the upper valley or lower valley? Do you want a park with a lot of activities (you can get that too in the not so pricey part), do you want to socialize or sorta stay to yourself.

Like Joy said come down find a reasonably priced park and explore until you find the one you want to spend some time in. You will love the valley.
