Bob and Betsy,

So sorry for your loss. Speedy was very much loved and it was indeed a blessing that he went out on his own. Our black Scottie, Bailey, developed heart failure last February and in April we had to make the decision to let him go. It was very difficult, but he was in a lot of discomfort. We tried to treat the heart failure, but it was not successful. We still miss him and I know you are missing Speedy.

So sorry.

I am as hard as one gets, combat vet, retired cop and when I had my dog of 17 years put down I cried. I don't cry at human funerals but that little dog kept me company when I was forced into retirement, we needed each other.

I hope if I go blind, deaf and have a stroke somebody puts me down.

Our true friend and constant companion of 13 1/2 years had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure about 2 months ago. It was hard on him and in the last week, he was having a hard time with his breathing and had a bad cough. This morning he ate, went outside and then came back into the RV, went to his favorite spot and went to sleep, for the final time. He had a good life and was a faithful companion, now he is at peace and very sadly missed by the both of us.
