Here is an adaptor if your RV park only has a 50 amp outlet, which is unlikely. Of course you still only have 30 amp service.

Dog bone adaptor

I use a computer UPS as a surge suppressor and to keep the satellite receiver from having to go through its startup procedure if there is an interruption in power for a few seconds. It runs my tv and receiver just fine.

Your tv and receiver won't draw much current at all so 30 amp service is plenty. I have my 40 footer on 30 amp and get along quite well.

Let me ask.. Does the rig currently have a CRT type television (old picture tube type) if the answer is YES. then you will have NO problems.

Even if the answer is NO, I do not expect any problems

All really excellent news, you guys really went above and beyond the call on the info.

I too use a UPS for my current PC setup, a OPTIUPS 1200, bout $40 but pretty solid. Stilling gonna get that surge protector for the whole trailer tho, the $150-2000 one.

I actually have an appointment with the dealers for that 1996 KIT COMPANION ROAD RANGER 28ET in a few hours. He can demo the functionality of the sucker, which is pretty huge in my book despite it being more spendy. I swear most private owners on Clist don't demo their trailers, yet expect you to just out and buy it... AND they can haul it and service it if needed later, for probably reduced prices or something.

Any feedback on that brand/model/year?

Something that can be done to help with large load appliances like microwaves and air conditioners is to wire a separate circuit that plugs into the 20 amp receptacle that is in most power pedestals. There are power entry boxes for small trailers that are fused and provide the weather proof entry for the power cable. Just wire that to an existing circuit pulled from the breaker/fuse panel or wire an entirely new circuit. A lot of people with seasonal lots do that to avoid the circuit breakers tripping when some one forgets to turn off the AC when using the microwave or hair dryer. Some of the older pedestals might not have any more than 30 amp capacity between the two receptacles, but most of the new ones with 50 amps available do.

I must be missing something here. Would someone please explain to he how an adapter will convert my service panel from 30amp to 50 amp. Sure could have saved myself a bunch of time and money by just using a dogbone. Please read the OP.

The adapter will allow you to plug your 30 amp cord into a 50 amp outlet. You will only have 30 amp service, however. You can not change your 30 amp TT to 50 amp service without major electrical remodeling, Many $$$$, and the services of a "Licensed Electrician". If you want to stay legal!

Some localities allow anyone to do wiring, some allow only the homeowner or a licensed electrician to do the wiring, and others allow only a licensed electrician. So, if you re-wire a trailer, which locality's codes apply to who can do the work: the locality where the unit was re-wired, or the locality where the re-wired trailer is used?

My brain hurts...

I'd suggest doing the rewiring in a location with no local codes then. I think if I went down to the county and requested a building permit for changes in a RV they might look a little puzzled.

RJsfishin; I think you misread the question. The question in TylerOSU's post was "can a 30amp rated RV be able to use 50amps". The answer to that is no, not without a 50amp service panel. All a dogbone does is drop the 20amp leg from the circuit, allowing only 30amps to the onboard service panel.
