One of my boat buddies on another forum said may be for allegator hunting (in TX?!)or flatfishing...hummmm!

PLS note it has an outboard of about 80 to 125 hp and a fan which is small compared to others i see in FL!!! Capt PJ

In the Florida Keys you can get stranded on the flats at low tide. Maybe the "fan" is just to get you off of the flats or out of shallow water and then you can revert to the outboard.

That 3rd picture shows it's an electric fan, sure isn't for going anywhere very fast or for very long. My guess it's used for slowly sneaking up on a school of fish without spooking them with paddles or motors. Sorta like polling up on a school of bonefish.

It looks like a trolling Air Boat. Many small lakes that do not have a lot of outflow have Water Lilly’s and other aquatic plants clogging the surface and in turn, clog propellers’. Flat bottom boats like this are excellent for Bass Fishing and getting into those locations are optimized by using the Fan as forward propelling, It is turned to provide steering. It is a pretty efficient way to get through good fishing areas.

It is for fishing on really hot, still days. Has a fan installed.

I think we have a winner here. sort of like an air borne trolling motor.
