Used to do that in another life,I was in the Air Force, would drive long hours and many miles to save leave time.
Not anymore,a couple of hundred miles a day is plenty.

Until a year ago we always did 700 on the first day to & from Tx or Ala.as we weren't touristing just traveling to a specific. A year or so ago my Body started rebelling from such abuse so we now plan our long trips in thirds around 300 to 350 max! works great!!IMHO

In a car I did 1267 Miles (2040kms)in around 22 hours. From Central Ontario to an hour West past Winnipeg. I was seeing things by the time I stopped.. It was dumb.. but I did it for love.. so enough said about that.

In a truck.. Only ever long days back when I I drove Tanker. Not sure the longest but I did Richmond, VA to Central Ontario 712 Miles in I think almost exactly 12 hours. I was empty and it was a Friday.. Never stopped to do anything accept at the border to wave at the friendly guards.

478 is the farthest I have towed in one day. Did 435 the next day. Not my favorite way to travel. 250-300 max is more to my liking.

Yesterday, I pulled a 37'5th wheel, 785 miles in 14 hours. I was alone, trying to get home from a trip I had made. I'll never do it again. The worst part, was one leg was through Atlanta, hitting the Talladega race traffic.
Anyone ever pulled that distance in one outing?

That comes out to an average of just over 56mph. Plus you said you were in traffic and I assume needed a rest stop. I guess you spent lots of miles over 60mph. ...and people complain about ST tires blowing.

Towed 18 hours straight to get home from a summer vacation trip in time to repack the trailer and join our camping group for a weekend camping trip. I spent all of Saturday catching up on sleep....what a waste.
