Hi all, I did a search and could not find out the info. I'm looking for. I just bought a Water Pressure Regulator and can't remember the suggested psi to set it at. I think I remember 50 psi! Can anyone give me any help with this? Thanks!

A lot of preset RV regulators are set at 45 psi. There are also preset regulators for newer RVs that are set at 60 psi. Not sure what "newer RV" means. I think mine can handle 60 psi and thinking about upgrading to it since mine is a 2008 coach and I want more pressure. Right now I have the 45 psi regulator. My RV manual says no higher than 60 psi.

I believe you will find the PEX tubing used in your water system is rated at 60PSI, you will also find the faucets will open themselves at 60PSI. A good Setting for you pressure is 45 to 50 PSI. Bill

You may have a built-in regulator. Most RV of your year had regulators built into the connection in the water bay. I bought the regulator from The RV Water Filter Store (clicky above)for our MH and reworked the built in regulator. I adjust mine to 60PSI and can take really nice showers with the added pressure & flow.

PEX tubing is pressure tested and rated higher than 99.9999% of the water systems in the US. Here is an excerpt from the code for PEX. Based on this, I do not use any pressure reducer in my coach and have never had a problem. I do have a pressure monitor I use every once in awhile if I think the pressure may be to high, but it has never exceeded 80psi. Your white hose is also a good pressure regulator, as it will rupture long before the PEX pipe in the coach will.

PEX tubing can be used in potable water distribution systems provided it has been tested in accordance with the governing standard, meets the requirements of ANSI/NSF Standard 61, and bears proper certification from a recognized testing agency.

Cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) materials are rated for long term service at 180°F as well as for cold water applications. Hot and cold water distribution system piping made from these materials has a working pressure rating of 100 psi at 180°F. These systems are tested at 150 psi at 210°F for at least 48 hours to assure integrity at those condition, which may develop in the event the water heater controls malfunction. Thus, such materials are suitable for hot water distribution where water heaters are installed with relief valves set at 150 psi, 210°F.

All plumbing codes require the use of piping having the 100 psi @ 180°F rating for both the hot and the cold water portions of the water distribution system.

As I have PEX throughout, I set my Watts regulator at 60 PSI. My whole house filter and water softener are both pressure tested to 150 PSI.
