I've been trying to find any company that makes a 2" receiver for the front of my MH. Just to clarify- the 2008's (E450) and on is where Ford made the chassis change & I haven't had any luck locating a mount. I'd like to be able to carry our bikes or even our spare tire, in the winter, as possible to help move the weight forward. No trouble with the years prior.
As it stands now I'm max'd out on the rear axle (4500#). So I'm trying to make an effort to better distribute the load.
Thanks
donc

See:
http://www.trailerhitches.com/hiddenhitch65053frontmounthitch.cfm $179 plus shipping
also:
http://www.hitchesonline.com/ford_front_end.htm $129 plus shipping - see the model for 2008 E-150 / E-250 / E-50. I think that will fit.
and:
http://www.hitchcorner.com/front-hitch.htm $195 plus shipping. See "2008-09 Full Size Van, E-150/E-250/E-350 - 500 lb. Tongue Weight" (DT65053). Instructions indicate this will fit the E-450 as well.
It appears that this may require removing or modifying the splash-guard / lower fascia.

Thanks for those excellent links!
I've been looking for a front hitch to use for carrying a small scooter on our Itasca 24 foot Class C.

Had a receiver put on the front of our unit. I believe it was made by Draw Tite. Have found out that it works well for us. We use it to hold our patio items. All you need to do is make sure you have good air flow to the engine. Best of luck.

I just got off the phone with Cequent Ind. They are the 'owners'- manufacturers etc of draw-tite, hidden hitch and acouple of more. In speaking with the engineering dept they came up with a part #65053 that supposedly will fit the E450 cut-a-way chassis - years 2008 and on. These people are only 1 mile from my home - however they said I must work with one of their outlets.
So.... I called my local Draw-tite place........1. they can't find anything in their computer 2. they then called their supplier and that part # is NOT recognized in there ordering books. 3. If I order it it will be a special order with NO RETURN abilities.
I'm presently waiting for a return call.
NOTE: I have already had 2 different companies send me a front mounted hitch with the assurance it would fit my unit. Neither one did!
I'll let you all know what happens..................

Received a call from draw-tite this AM. They say the part # is good and it should fit. We'll see. It's my last gamble. I'm still responsible if it DOESN'T fit, for the cost.

i finally got the hitch on and it fits very well. Agagi, part #65053 is the right number for 2008 and after for the Ford E450.
took awhile for the part to arrive as it was a special order.
