I finally got time to put in my digital thermostat, only after the old duo-therm gave up the ghost and left us in the cold with upper teens outside. I did have an Olympian 6100 and the stove burners to help. Anyway, thanks for the help before, it is in and working fine. My question now is the Duo-therm had a high and low fan position, and others talk about putting in a switch to accomplish this from Radio shack on the digital. The only wire that I did not use on the new thermostat was the "H" wire, that I was told was a hot wire. It is a blue wire on mine, that doesn't match what others have said, but I understand that this can often be not to code. I don't have any other wire to put to a selective switch for high or low on the fan. I have the "RH", "RC", "W", "Y", and "G" switched to the appropriate place on the digital, and the only one left is the one that was hooked to "H". Also what is the main reason for the two speed fan, is it necessary? Thanks.

The blue wire is the high speed control for the fan. This web page shows how to connect it using a switch.

The higher fan speed moves the air faster and makes cooling more efficient but also makes more noise. Having a switch is optional. If you want it to run at high speed all the time just connect the blue wire to the orange wire without the switch.

My wire colors are all different than on the normal set up. The "RH" and "RC" are both red, the "H" was blue, the "W" was red and black striped. I was not getting any power on the "H" wire when I put the meter on it though.

I went ahead and took the time to install a SPST switch from Radio Shack so that we can control the fan speed on the A/C.

Once we get the trailer initially cooled down we switch to low speed fan..it holds the temp nicely and is much quieter..
