I am going to fix a small crack that leaks water . the crack is in the diccor so I was reading what is in diccor and it contains Petroleum distillates. Rubber roofs don't like this to be on the roof so I was very suprised to read this on the tube.

Yesterday or the day before I was researching Dicor on this site and an explanation was given by a Dicor rep that the distillate evaporated so quickly that it was not a problem. I don't want to go to the trouble but if someone wants to take the time to search it out just do a search on Dicor and you will find it.

This is true for most sealants we use on our rubber roofs. Lacquer thinner is our first choice for cleaning EPDM roofing before using Eternabond. The warning is general in nature and not fully factual if you know what you are doing when one uses them on rubber roofs.

I've been through this as well. My posts have likely turned up in a search on the subject. Dicor actually caused the rubber on my roof to locally pucker up for a short time. It flattened back out and I have been assured that it did no permanent harm. I like the other properties of the product and will continue to use it unless I see different. You can be assured that you'll hear about it if I do, just as you're hearing my recommendation for it now. It comes in self-leveling which flows and in non-sag.
