Johnny T and the other Mods THANK YOU very much for alloying this to be posted here.
I'm not sure exactly how the malicious software was initiated when one entered TRVN. Hopefully, the Admins will be able to shed some additional light once TRVN is back online. Somehow, my AVG Internet security software did not see the program as a threat. However, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware software, from my aforementioned corrective link, had no problem identifying, removing and quarantining it.

Rob, thanks for posting. I, too, clicked on the "new topics" and guess I was just lucky. I saw the d/l begin and immediately closed the browser. Haven't seen any ill effects like you described, so I think I might have killed it before I got infected.

Rob,
I was on TRVN Sunday a.m. when the malware infection hit. Needless to say, I was also infected. I was referred to an anti-malware program (Adaware). After downloading/scanning, it seemed to remove the "Cyber Security" crap, but I continued to get never ending popups when I went to virtually all websites. I was about to have my laptop hard drive wiped when I came across this thread. I went through the 20 step process, which identified 17 malicious objects pertaining to "Cyber Security" that were not identified by Adaware. My laptop now appears to be clean and the popups have stopped. You continue to be a huge asset to TRVN and the rv community. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Now that you have printed out the removal instructions, the 20 steps, go back an click on my link earlier in this post. This will bring you to the 20 steps and you will be able to readily click on the additional links in steps #2, 4 and 9. Once those links download the additional software to your computer they should be in your browser Downloads folder. At that point, click on them and Save them to the default location on your computer. The instructions and new software should essentially walk through the 20 steps.
In step 7, the file is not called tsc.exe. I believe it was cs.exe but more importantly look for the SHEILD icon to the left of the file name. It's the file you need to remove.

Most free virus and firewall programs will not pick up Malware. This is where you get what you pay for. Zone Alarm has a program called Force Field which you can get by itself or part of Zone Alarm Extreme. It will stop all Malware and also stop any program from hijacking your browser.
