If there were only 8, I wouldn't have bought an RV!

Any "Must See" list that includes anything man-made is moot in my mind. I'd much rather see nature in action than man's insignificant achievements...

Well... I have been to 3 of the first page sites.

NY harbor
Sears Tower
Gettysburg

And I've read a book where Monticello was a major setting

Now I don't know if Greenfield Village appears farther down the list

But I think it should be on the list..... .been there a few times too.

Strange list, indeed. I remember going to Gettysburg and being SO dismayed by the "tourist trap" feel of the area. Graceland?? Huh??

The places that have been tops on our list:

Yellowstone/Tetons
Grand Canyon
Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor
Valdez, AK
Kona, HI
The Keys, FL
Moab, UT
And if I had to pick a building: Fallingwater (Frank Lloyd Wright's design at Bear Run, PA)

I understand your point but our interaction with nature includes and is therefore limited by the means we utilize to explore it.

In my opinion we can not afford to remove ourselves from nature any longer.

Nice list, Ed. I would add:

Blue Ridge Parkway
Great Smokey Mountain National Park
Devils Tower
For a building, I would choose the Corn Palace.
