My TV is coming equiped with Ford's TowCommand brake controller.

Does anyone have any comments, good/bad about them? Seems people have thier favorite brands. My trailer will gross out at 11.5k so it's not a heavy weight.

How long has Ford offered these brake controllers?

Thanks.

Integrated Brake Controller (IBC) were introduced in the '05 model year. I love mine, and I think you'll find positives greatly outweigh negative responses based on previous threads on the issue.

I don't have one but wish I did! Everyone that I know and have read about that has it loves the way it works. Ford did have a problem early on with them not activating at low speed or some such thing but they have had that fixed that for some time.
I am sure you are going to enjoy the way it works!

I've only got about 6k miles on my 09 F350 with the integrated brake controller, but almost 5k of those have been towing. The controller seems to work very well. My last truck had a Prodigy controller in it, and the controller on the 09 works as well as the Prodigy did. I would still recommend using the Tow/Haul mode in town and in the mountains, though. It helps.
