I was wondering if anyone else has problems with birds perching on top of your slide under your slideout cover? Every moring they seem to be having a party and I am not sure if there is anything we can do to deter the behavior.

Put a rubber snake on the cover and you will have no birds.

I would think that just moving around inside the trailer doing your every day things would be enough to scare them away.

You would think? We had a pair try to nest under our slide cover and we were fulltimers Ended up removing the nest several times before they gave up and chose the ladder

They get used to things, and a rubber snake that does not attack is just another object after a while....

We put one of those fake owls on our patio...it very shortly became their favorite perch and was covered with bird droppings.

What gets hit when you miss?
neighbors, shattered skin on your trailer, windows, hole in the awning.

I have a sense of humor and I guess you were just kidding...but I am always amazed at the folks that always suggest solving problems by shooting them.

My solution: hang some short streamers on the awning edge that flutter and flap in the wind.

How about some kind of barrier in each end of the open topper to keep the birds out in the first place? But make sure you put a note on the slide switch to remind you to remove them before closing the slide. Styrofoam comes to mind, cut to fit the opening and then just forced in place.

Block Styrofoam

I agree with othertonka,I think a block of styrofoam will work. or some sort of block to prevent them from getting in.
