I agree, just replace it an be done for another 10 years or so. Hitting them with some 303 every 6mo or so will help extend their life some. The replacement cover shouldn't be more than $100 or so unless you have to have it shipped ... so I would look for a local availability.

[quote=BIKERK9][COLOR=#000099]Heat and the UV take their toll and make them brittle after a number of years.
Repairing a brittle cover is a temporary fix. Might consider buying a new one.
Yep,when they get old & brittle, save your time, get a new one.

Quick and dirty would be rough up the area on the outside and build up some epoxy like Marine Tex or JB Weld. Better would be to remove it, rough up the inside and patch and reinforce it with glass cloth and an epoxy resin. Epoxy costs more, but it sticks better.
At the airline, we used only epoxy on airplanes. On stuff that wasn't important, like cargo pods or catering equipment, we used regular old cheap polyester resin.

One note if they are Coleman units. Their covers are prone to cracking and really need reinforcement. Pop Up Gizmo's makes a brace that stops the cracking. Even the newer "redesigned" covers still crack.

MaxxAir has a replacement for Coleman that is really rugged and lifetime warranted. I had patched ours with aluminum sheet and pop rivets, also added bigger plates where it fastened down.
Now, it was more like 15 years old and lived in the FL sun all its life, but when I put the old one out for the trash, they grabbed it like it had a little substance and it shattered into pieces that we had to sweep up.

I read somewhere that if you get a crack in plastic, in order to keep it from spreading, drill a tiny hole at the end of the crack and that will usually stop it from continuing to spread. Still go the repair route, but I'd drill a small hole at the ends of the cracks to keep them from getting bigger over time.
