Your sweet story is very similar to that of our black and white cat Pandy. She "crossed the Rainbow Bridge" just two years ago this week.

Sounds like your cats have been given a wonderful life and were treated with love and compassion when it was time to say goodbye.

Thankis for a good memory.

All of us pet lovers feel your loss and the loss described by other posters. We are between pets now and sometimes wonder if we can go through the heartbreak again and then we remember why we love our pets. Such a hole they leave. Remember you can still talk to them and for them.

Sad to read of your loss, it's always so hard. 19 years-I can't imagine it. Her life and yours were better for her being with you. Prayers to you from us in our little rolling "katsle"..

Our condolences as well. They grow on us so quickly and become part of our families and part of our hearts. I hope you feel some comfort knowing you gave her a good loving home for a good long cat-life.

What a wonderful story of love found on a winter day, with your companion to be of 19 years. It's funny how our cats find us. I'm very sorry to hear about your Kit passing and feel for you in your grief. It's so hard to let them go after becoming such a big part of your family for so many years, but always remember the love and the companionship Kit brought you, and that you brought her love and companionship as well. I hope you find comfort knowing that you were there for her to help her at the end.

Do you have a picture you could post of her?

What a beautiful, touching story! I found your blog (click here) and found the picture of Kit. So precious! These little critters sure do affect us animal lovers, even the ones we don't know personally.....thanks for sharing your story.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you,

I am so sorry to hear of your sorrow. What a wonderful life your companion had with you. I hope that the years of good memories will help sustain you during this difficult time.

May tender memories soften your grief,
May fond recollection bring you relief,
And may you find comfort and peace in the thought
Of the joy that knowing your loved one brought ---
For time and space can never divide
Or keep your loved one from your side
When memory paints in colors true
The happy hours that belonged to you.
