I'm lovin some of the new class C products. Most importantly, the gas mileage. But, what product has 2+ slides and is 30ft plus. Don't want a diesel type product, just a gasser. Educate me.

We went from a DP to a 33ft Class. It drives fine and I can get it into spots I would not think of trying with the A. We are older and decided full time was not for us. The total of around 3.5 months in our unit in the Class C id fine for us. The local service facilities do not cross their eyes when I ask them to work on the chassis which is nice considering the diesel facilities are over an hour away. And the money we have sunk is less.
In our case, we feel good about the change.

I downsized from a 35 ft A to a 2006 Tioga 30U. Two slides.
have had it 3 yrs and 22K miles. No regrets. Tow a 06 Honda Crv with
no problems. Ford V10 works great.

If gas mileage is a major concern, Stay home. All the methods of traveling "while taking the home with you" are not gas efficient. Enjoy what you do and forget about the mileage.

Glad to hear someone is upgrading from a Class A to a Class C! ; )
What kind of mileage are you looking at? My Class C is 30ft, no slides but extra wide. I only checked the mileage once and it got 8.3 mpg, in the hilly area between the CA border and Prescott,AZ. I just allow 50 cent a mile when I estimate gas costs.

Maybe the OP was getting 3 to 4 mpg with a huge DP. They could double that, right?

I think it is beneficial to 'aim high' when pursuing a goal...

There are many 30 plus with 2+ slides. Best way to start in on the web looking at manufactures then visit an RV show to compare quality, price, and floor plans. Once you narrow it down, you can visit different dealerships. Some RV manufactures with 30+ -- Toga(Fleetwood), Jayco, Forrest River,Lexington,Coachman, Born Free to name a few....Coach House and Phoenix Curser, are B+, and may have a 30 footer, but the ones I have seen or test drove were all around 26-27'.

Teeznu, As you are already familiar with the Winnebago/Itasca products you might look at the Aspect/Cambria 28B. They come with two slides, (U shaped dinette in one, walk around queen bed in the other), are 29'-7" long on an E450 chassis. There are also the 32' models with 3 slides. These are more areodynamic than the wide body models with an overhead bunk and seem to get a bit better gas mileage. We purchased ours last year and are completely thrilled with it. While researching we purchased the RV.org ratings guide and these models have a 93 highway rating as well as the Winnebago quality built in. Feel free to PM us if we can answer any other questions.
