I am going to be lowering the king pin to raise the pin of my 5th Wheel.
I searched and couldn't find any reference to this issue...
Currently all the bolts are in a V pattern and when I lower it they will not be able to be in the same position. The angle of the Pin Box prevents the front holes to be bolted when I lower it more, and I need to lower it because I am 3 inches tail high and the Super Glide hitch has no height adjustment.

Before:

The center section will have to have two bolts, one above the other and the rear most section will have one bolt. I could do this with two bolts toward the rear and one in the center.

Wow you and I almost have the same set up. I am in the opposite direction sitting an inch or two nose high. did you lower your truck or raise the trailer? I am not sure I would vary from the bolt pattern on the king pin, all that I have seen are in the same pattern.

I just raised the trailer because I had very little bed rail clearance...

Drill another set of holes seems like an obvious idea.

Here's what I would do.

Mount it like you say 1 bolt rear 2 bolts center.

(1)I would then reach inside the pin box and scribe the outline of the front hole in your pin box to the outside mount plates.

(2) Remove the pin box and drill new holes in outer plates.

Now you will have 4 bolts holding instead of three. 1 rear 2 middle 1 front

While obvious, as you so kindly put it, I certainly wouldn't do it without some previous precedent. Of course this why I am here discussing it...

This does sound like a good way to keep the pattern and since you have done it as well, I assume you have had no adverse effects?
