We signed up for mail forwarding service with Passport America. Our mailing address is in Florida. Now Humana (our Medigap provider) says that they won't cover us if our address is in FL, because they are a Texas insurance company. Even though we will retain our TX drivers licenses, TX vehicle registration, legal address in Dallas--they say they can't do it because our mailing address is in FL! What do people do about this?

If you qualify (drive a motor home) you might want to chdck out FMCA. Their mail forwarding address is Cincinnati, OH. I've been using them for 8 years and have had no problems. For our prescriptions, we use Medicare and Tricare for life and have then filled an Wal-Mart and have had no problems. Where do you have your prescriptions filled? Happy Trails Bob W.

Why not use the Escapees mail service and that is in Texas. Just have them send your mail to FL.

Why did you give Humana a Florida address if your legal address is in Dallas? Is that a relative's address? Just because you can get cheaper service with PPA, doesn't mean, as you have seen, that it is the best. If you are going to stay a Texas resident use Escapees.

We just file a temporary change of address form with the post office. If you're going to be moving around the p.o. has a forwarding service where they'll forward your mail once a week or two weeks, whatever you choose. You can also call them and give a different address if you want. Could do that every week or so. You could also tell them to hold your mail until you call with an address. There is a charge for this service but it works very well.

Then contact one of the FL sales offices and see if you would need to transfer policy. Let us know what they say. link

That's great for someone like a Snowbird, but doesn't work for a fulltimer.

Another case of..... "sometimes we are our own worst enemies". I don't know how many times I fell into that category.
