Does anyone know how far Morro Bay State Park is from the town? Are there any restaurants nearby? Thanks

It's about 2 miles to restaurants near the water/shopping area. I believe, there is a cafe at the marina area near the State Park, 1/4 mi or so.

It's actually right on the edge of the town. There's a restaurant just down the road (walking distance) and the main town is just a few minutes from there.
Just check it out on a map

Great campground, cafe right across the street at the marina. Lots of birds to watch. Downtown not very far away.

Yes, but we won't have a car. How long will it take to walk downtown?

Hi,
I think it was a couple of miles to drive downtown.
You might want to take the RV, or bicycles, or electric scooter or something?
I bought a 24 volt electric scooter, it was handy for very short trips, but did not have the range that I wanted. I would say that 36 volt might be a better way to go. I bought a Subaru 4 stroke gas scooter, it is not to noisy, while most 2 stroke engines smoke and are very noisy. It is OK to get around, but I usually tow a car.
Good Luck,
Fred.

If you drive the RV, any size, to the harbor restaurant area in Morro Bay watch carefully for the zones that do not allow large vehicles to park. Nothing over 8 ft tall or 20 ft long. There are free public parking areas at both ends of the strip which allow RV's and you would need to walk several blocks to the harbor restaurants. There are, of course, other areas of town that also have restaurants and parking is allowing there. My favorite "restaurant" is my RV parked at some great view along the bay.

On weekends there is a trolley that comes by the state park every 20 or 30 minutes. You can buy a all day pass. goes into town and by the wharf.

When we camped there we rode our bikes down to the embarcadero and then out to Morro rock. Took about 15 minutes at the most to get to the tourisy area. That was with an 8 yr old riding also... Probably take you 25 mintues to walk it...
Great places to eat:
Hof Brau on the embarcadero for roast beef sandwiches and Tognazzini's Dockside Restaurant further down for seafood and outside seating. (parking down by it for the RV also).
Have fun!
