There was a hour long documentary on television about 2 weeks ago on this ship. Very interesting and worth watching.
They were showing pool being played - it apparently is that stable.

With the worlds financial situations fluctuating so wildly I wonder how long it will be profitable to run. I guess it was begun way before the financial collapse, so they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. And Dubai has loan trouble. What a mess.

Now, what are the daily operating costs?
A pirate plan? Yes they do. They have reserved space for 42 Pirates, (double Occupancy) and coupons for the cafe shows with free drinks.

I have taken 5 cruises and would not like to take this ship. It is just too big. There are advantages to taking smaller ships.

I was on a cruise ship in about 2002 or 2003 off the coast of Mexico. I was up on deck watching what appeared to be a small boat about a mile or so from the ship matching our speed. It stayed in the same spot for a while so I walked down to our cabin and got my binoculars and came back up to the deck. The boat was still there. When I looked at it through the binoculars I saw it was no small boat at all. It was the periscope from a submarine. It stayed with us for a while longer and then disappeared. I assume it was one of ours just keeping an eye on things.
