I remember a post about this in the past but could not find it. I am looking for a generic adapter like the one pictured below. This is a rather expensive marine one and since I am not in a marine environment, a generic one will do. Thanks, Brendan

The adapter you show is not 50 amp nor is it one that can convert an RV shore line to 15 amps unless you have a 30-amp twist-lock on the RV. If so, then you could use the adapter shown but would then need a 15-amp extension cord to go to the power source.

If you indeed do have a 50-amp shore-line, you need a simple 50 amp female to 15-amp male adapter, about $20.00 at most RV stores or Wal. Mart

I believe this is the one you are looking for.
The photo you posted is a 50-amp to 20-amp Marine adapter.

The one posted is a fifty twist-lok to 15 amp adapter.

The blade style cord bodies would normally have to go from fifty to thirty to 15. Such as those from Camco RV.

There is a blade to fifty to 15 adapter but I would not trust it for very much load. The model is AD50-20. I think it is a Parallax Power Supply.

More properly stated as "50amp to 20amp" connector.
I find that having "50amp to 30amp" and "30amp to 20amp" cords allows me to cover whatever I've needed so far.

i have a question?...the power reducer that you are talking about and providing links for is great...but the one that kirk is asking about has the twist lock 50 amp end to 20 amp...this is what i would want also...so i/we could go from side of trailer to a standard 20 amp cord...the adaptors you show...go from the end of you 50 amp cord ( your 50 amp 40 foot cord needs to be pluged in)..it needs the nice 50 amp twist to 20 amp like kirk shows a pic of

You are not going to find a 50 amp to a true 20 amp adapter. The 20 amp configuration has the neutral and phase conductor perpendicular to each other.

Correct. I just want to run an extension cord from my house and use the least amount of cable/connectors/reducers/adapters as possible. It is a pain to dig out the 50 amp service anaconda and use it.

I have a simple adapter that goes for a standard 50 amp RV connection to a 15 amp plug. Kind of looks like a hockey puck and isn't much thicker. I, uh "confiscated" it from the selling dealer after they kept my rig for 113 days and two antennas were stolen from it on their lot. They refused to replace the antennas so ...
