I have a spot I like to overnight once in a while in Ticonderoga NY. I go to the Lake Champlain boat launch next to the Lake Champlain Ferry. Its a very big parking lot and much nicer than the local Walmart. The only time it is hectic is during Bass tournaments which are frequent but on the weekends. Local police have cruised through but never questioned my being there. During the season I would park way up the back so as not to interfere with boat launching, trailer parking. Would really recommend being there during the "Grand Encampment" at Fort Ticonderoga. It is a re enactment of a French and Indian War Battle.
