It is easier to use pesos than gringo cash. Get small denominations because the vendors most always don't have change for the larger peso bills.
Don't know your route but as rocmoc said, don't speed. If you enter at Lukeville, watch your speed going through Sonoyta and make sure to make a complete stop at stop signs
Easy road, don't speed, stay on main road. Pesos help but you can get by. $20 and smaller. Harder to get back into USA than it is to get into Mexico. Get Mexican Insurance. Enjoy!
