Was on the ladder the other day and saw what looks like the head of a screw starting to push up on the rubber roof material from underneath it (backing out). My question is do I just leave it and keep an eye on it and wait till it pokes through too much? Or do I try maybe pushing the screw back in by tapping on it or putting a small slit in the roof and remove the screw and seal over it with lap sealant? Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks for the info...I guess i'll keep an eye on it until it stops snowing long enough to make a dry repair.

As stated earlier , it is probably a staple coming out , that is how the wood is secured to the trusses as builders cannot waste time using screws...it might slow the fast production line ... Easiest was is to hammer it down and cover with etherbond tape. Or if it has been there from the start it is debris , and you can cut a slit ,take debris out and seal up with tape.

Are you sure it was not that way before? Perhaps you just noticed it and it has been that way from the beginning... If it is sticking up very far, I agree, you probably should deal with it, if it is not much, keep an eye on it. I would be wondering why if it is backing out.

I'd want to know what's under there and WHY is it coming up.

x eleventy billion.

Fix it now so you don't have to worry / remember ro "keep an eye on it"

Could be a staple.

I'd be surprised if an RV manufacturer took the time to secure the roof with screws. Most are stapled down.
But, it could be a screw.
Slit the roof and then you will know.

Its going to damage the roof anyway so repair it on your own terms....clean it, cut it, repair it, all in nice weather on your time schedule. I had a small branch fall out of a tree in bad weather that poked a hole in my roof membrane and I got up there and patched it between rain drops. It wasn't that much fun but it had to be fixed asap. Fix it now rather than later.

I would not leave it alone for fear it would tear through and I wouldn't notice it until too late.
