After we go over the Bridge we often end up Here;

For SunRise

So different to Get up in the AM to see this, then over to the Back Porch to see this in the Evening;

The neat thing about Sunrise and Sunsets - almost every road Has One

Almost time to start to look for Crabs in the Bay!

Over at the marina were you? Hope to cross that one eastbound the evening of July 5th after getting in to BWI.

Thought you would Recognize that Bridge - I was Sitting on the Picnic table that used to be there, having an Adult Beverage. Often we will just grab a drink, drive over and watch some incredible Sunsets across the Bay, not only does the Sun Look Good but the Air just goes down Easy on the Shore.

The Bay and the Rivers are our Rockies, here in Maryland.

Answer;

Looking East across the Chesapeake Bay with the two Bridges silhouetted by the Sunset, still drive that road Often,(Almost every day) Love it.

Yes, the Blue Crabs are like nothing else anywhere - Old Bay and a few Crabs or a Crab Cake with a beer, hard to Beat.

Short cut is the wrong terminology. I was advised to take the "cutoff" by a gentleman in Grand Junction. We were discussing our destinations. This was when I70 was still piecework. I had a 23' Road Ranger TT at that time.

Utah 128 a nice and beautiful short cut from 1-70 to Moab.

While a beautiful drive, I'm not so sure I'd call it a "short cut". My favorite time on the UT 128 was when I ran into a cattle drive down the middle of it. Even with the cowboys urging me on, it took almost a hour to get through the cows, and my RAV4 smelled like a barn for weeks!

Jon,

Did you do the run to Crystal Mill in the CRV?

That Granite probably cut the tires to pieces!

Bill

I wouldn't have tried in the RAV4; friends who spend lots of time off roading in the Leadville area had an older Toyota 4 Runner. Now I'm towing with a Tacoma Off Road - I might give it a try next time I'm in the area.

I met a woman whose family owned one of the cabins in Crystal. She said that it used to be accessible in a typical family sedan, as there was a guy in "town" who would run a bulldozer over it every spring. This was in the 50's. Not so easy now. We did it a few years ago in our RAV4, but I have a fair amount of 4x4 experience and wouldn't necessarily recommend that vehicle for others to reach Crystal.

UT 128 for the river shot. If I put in some time, I could pinpoint the spot!

Ken,

If we could get you to use a Camera - you could take a picture of it this Spring when you are over there in Moab.

I'll say it again - No one Knows this Area of the West Like Ken.

Period, end of story.
