ha ha ha that's great. They need to black out the grills also. With a hydraulic suspension they could really do some street crusin.

The 413 (sometimes called the semi hemi) is/was an industrial engine
Used to power irrigation systems, hydraulics etc..

My first motorhome a 1972 lifetime by Boise cascade
Had the 413

And gas mileage sucked

There were two 413s. The P (premium) engine was for trucks/RVs, with high mount water pump, different heads and manifolds.
The standard 413 was a "high B block", used in cars, and parts from the 440 would interchange.

yes..Wedge head is more common, i was trying to remember that

mine was single 4bbl carb

boy that thing used a lot of gas

no matter how i tried to soft pedal it

I had a 440 in a very rare Plymouth Trailduster (Like a ramcharger) and it too was absolutely terrible, aside from the fact those exhaust manifolds got so hot next to your feet you had to stop and get out to cool off your tennis shoes ๐Ÿ™‚

I always knew them as the "wedge" and they could fold a factory 62 Valiant in half if you treated it naughty. They weren't just for pumps! I don't know which version went in a motorhome, but the dual cross carb super stock was envy of many in my high school days.

Hanko, isn't that the refrigeration research factory now? When I was a kid in Brighton our neighbor worked there.

It was in fact. A fence supply company was in there last. They moved out a few years ago, I don't know who if anybody is there now. where in Michigan are you located?
