Leaky spigots!

Not ours, theirs. It's happened a handful of times, we pull into a campground, connect the fresh water hose and their faucet leaks.

I'll try an extra washer, sometimes that helps. But last night the park spigot was spraying as much out as into the hose. So I feel obligated to go out and turn the faucet on and off as needed. Not a ton of work but not a ton of fun when we're winter camping like today.

Has anyone else encountered a campground leaker?
Can you share what you did about it to get it to either stop or slow down the spray?

Maybe a roll of that As-Seen-On-TV Flex Seal tape should be in my RV? ๐Ÿ™‚

thanks

If it is just loose at the packing nut I tighten it. If it is more than that I let the campground management know.

I only use water at ANY CG to fill my fresh water tank and then use my RV Pump even when at FHU sites.

$6000 PLUS damages/costs when had a leak while sleeping connected to city water.
Never again.
If leak occurs pump cycles and I hear it LONG before damages
Turning pump on/off is convenient and I don't even have to go out of rig.

CG water spigot is for filling/refilling and black tank flushing
Is it time for your medication or mine?

I have found that tightening the collar nut just under the handle usually works. If that is loose the spigot will leak. I don't think tape will really help.
