Not for the RV, but at home, I was thinking about a komado grill . The Big Green Egg seems to have the most followers, but Vision Grills Kamado Pro Ceramic Charcoal Grill at Home Depot is significantly less $$'s and has good reviews. Just wondering if anyone here has any first hand use of one of the Vision grills.

Well, The Visions Kamado Grill arrived. I was really impressed by the thoroughness of the packaging. Everything was well protected and the few items that required assembly were well marked. Instructions for assembly were very clear. It only involved putting together the two piece stand, installing the 4 castors on the stand, attaching the handle and shelves. They even proved the necessary wrenches. Quality looks very good.
Can't wait to fire it up, but fortunately, were are headed to the Keys for about a month so it will sit until we get back.

JoeH, I am sure you are going to love it -- we have had a Big Green Egg for 20 years and we use it three times a week, rain or shine (usually shine). Watch out, though -- it will spoil you so that you and your family will prefer home cooking to going out. This means that you will rarely get a break from cooking and doing dishes.

Also, you will find that you can make amazing things that can be frozen and then brought along on camping trips -- delicious, but again you will sometimes wish for a "cook's night out."

Looking forward to your review w/ appropriate food porn shots:B.
Won't be able to use any kind of grill on my new to me NYC terrace but still have a chance for use in another locale.

I've never used one but found a review that might help you decide if you want to pull the plug:

There also seems to be same grill with slightly different specs from Costco's.

We have the Kamado. It's working great so far.

I only have experience with our Big Green Egg. I think the Kamado will do just fine. Especially with the price difference. I do love our egg though. But I also like our Weber Genesis gas grill and use it more often due to ease and faster.
