Campgrounds along Hwy 2 in Maine

We will be traveling along Hwy 2 in Maine during the May 21st weekend.

Anybody know of any campgrounds in the area and not too far off Hwy 2 that would be open that time of year?

I expect to be traveling down route 26 from Sherbrooke QC and then along Highway 2 to the border at Holten Me. Would like to take my time and actually see something besides Interstate Highways for a change.

Off rout 2 on 201 between Skowhegan and Bingham is a Yogi Bear campground and if my memory serves me there may be another one close by. What part of route 2 are you traveling?

Thanks, it is a little further than I wanted to travel, but it just might do for me. Opens May 1st according to their website.

I was at Pumpkin Patch in Hermon, Maine (right outside of Bangor) in late May...several years back.
Very nice park, accomodating office staff. Seems we arrived somewhere around May 24. Stayed a week and then a few extra days.
