Dometic Fridge light bulb gone

New to us MH made by Newmar has NO LIGHT in fridge. I took the lens off and there is no bulb, looks like two prongs similar to an electrical cord but just on the side of the fridge with wires. I am confused, I thought I would take the lense off and see a blown bulb but I do not see a bulb. What am I missing and where do it get it? RV store like Camping World or Home Depot? What is the name of what I am looking for?

Ambient Temp Switch keeps interior light ON....adds heat to food compartment so that 'cooling cycles' run longer

Ambient Temp Switch....
Turn ON when ambient temps are >50*F
Turn OFF when <50*F

Course with MODEL number one COULD get a manual
Is it time for your medication or mine?

I have fixxed it. 1) it needed a bulb such as was pictured hear looking like a big fuse, but then it would not shut off when I pushed the shut off lever, so with some help found the button for Ambient Temp and pushed that and now it goes out with the door closed and on with open door. THANK YOU GUYS!!! The bulb goes betw each blade.

Thanks Guys, SO, when I look at the fixture that is supposed to light the fridge, it looks like two electric prongs so does this "bulb" go betw the two blade looking things?

A simple Model number would get you exact info...and where to get it.

I would consider this as the perfect oppertounity to "Upgrade"
THere is a fan/light assembly that attaches to the top of the Fridge compartment, it both improves efficiency of the Fridge and reduces frost built up and the need for defrosting... It also has Lights built in, LED I think.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

Chris Bryant is correct. Replaced mine yesterday, from Ace Hrdw

My Dometic fridge uses the festoon bulb (that looks sort of like an old fashioned glass fuse) as well.

I'd check drawers etc. for the missing bulb. On my fridge, at least, the bulb circuit is live all the time, regardless of whether or not the fridge is turned on, though I gather this is not universal for all Dometic fridges. (There is, of course, a door switch in the circuit so the light isn't on when the fridge door is closed.) The only way to have the fridge open when shut off (for ventilation, to prevent icky stuff from growing and smelling bad) was to take the bulb out. I added a shut-off switch because I got tired of fiddling with the bulb, in fact.

Any auto parts store will have that type bulb. Was used as dome light bulb in lots of cars

WHAT is Brand & MODEL of fridge.

That info will get specific answers vs guesses

THIS is a common 'lamp' used by Dometic

Mine is a Dometic and this is the exact bulb.

It may be an Appliance Bulb, of course it is 12 volt, and probably a 2 pin base. Try going to the Dometic Ref. website with your model number, and there should be a listing of common parts, (Bulb) there. Good luck.
