Our First Trip with the Lance since December. Nice to be be out in it again.

Spending the 4th of July in Tucson to be our grandson & our daughter and for his upcoming 6th Birthday.

We are staying in the Lance at night at the Agave Gulch FamCamp on Davis-Mothan AFB.

Not many there this time of year & we lucked out finding a site with some Shade & real Trees. Rare there. In the evening, it had Shade over the Lance. Hottest time of the day & we were setup the Lance.....very helpful. Photos taken around 11 am with cloudy skies yesterday morning, as they are today. Very much cooler than the day we arrived on the 3th.

Fireworks at D-M AFB was very nice last night. Even had Shuttles from parking areas to the site.

Roy&lynne, The time of year you will be in DM area is very busy, but can usually get in if you are willing to boon dock for a couple of days. If we don't want to boon dock while waiting for a spot we usually stay at the Pima county fair grounds park. Kids live on easy side of Tucson so we stay close at either location.

That's what I was afraid of, but don't mind boondocking as we just usually like to do our shopping and laundry on base, and we just can't be on a schedule. Thanks for the info

It's a large FamCamp. The Agave Gulch FamCamp is a state of the art facility consisting of 198 spaces with full W/S/E (20/30/50) hook-ups, modern restrooms, coin-operated laundry, dayroom and office.

They have some overflow space. Everything is First Come/First Served, but they have long term sites as well. No reservations.

Campers Choice Award for Best Military Campground 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011.

The are two Rincon RV Resorts in Tucson area. Never been by Rincon West, but stayed at Rincon East for 5 days in Sept. Didn't do any of their offerings, except swimming in the pool.

Our daughter lives a block or two from the park.

The restroom & showers were clean by the pool, but didn't see the exercise room or any others. We had the pool mainly to ourselves. Had cable. A quiet park. Not real busy this time of year. A lot of park models & setup RVs, most seemed empty, but some with people. A very large place, did see but a small area. Staff were friendly as well guests.

LadyHawk, Our Five YO Grandson & I got to go swimming each evening we were there in the pool at the park. Our Daughter did each day but one. She wanted to get food ready for supper. Her Hubby was able to go swimming twice as well, the first day & the last. We all had a great time.

Rincon East is closer to the D-M AFB, but not under the take off or landing flight line.

Rincon West appears to be in the direct flight line of air traffic from Tucson Intn'l Airport, not the base.

Voyager is also nearer to the airpot, than the base, but south east of the airport, instead of northwest of it like Rincon West. Voyager is not far off I-10 on the outer edge of Tucson. Rincon West is near I-19 far west side of Tucson.

These will all be more expensive than the FamCamp.

I was just talking about staying at Davis-Mothan AFB so really appreciate the pictures. Unfortunately we will be in the area in February or March and we are traveling unscheduled, so getting a spot will be iffy at best.

We've stayed there numerous times over the past 15 years visiting the area, kids and grand daughter. Great park and they "grow it" every year. We always enjoy our stay. Great pictures!
